….In particular my own digital footprints. With all the new trends in ‘blogging’, sites such as ‘Freedly’ and other accounts that I have activated recently as part of my learning in this course, I feel a little uncomfortable about who will be able to see my activities. I know this sounds paranoid, but I have never been one who likes to put things out there for the world to see.
I think this is an important issue that needs to be explored in high school, and students need to understand the potential implications.
I read an interesting article about this in the Age Tread very carefully … you’re leaving digital footprints. Students often don’t think when using social media and other ICT’s; they act on impulse and emotion and post things on the world wide web that they may later regret. Of course, then it is too late – even if a post, blog, photo is removed, it is still accessible in many aspects.
