I just finished reading a blog that Rachel posted about students being comfortable with using ICTs. I would be confident to say that most teenage students these days have advanced knowledge of ICTs (facebook, snapchat and researching the internet) compared with teenagers 10 years ago. For this reason, it would be a mistake not to encourage this skill and try to incorporate ICTs into the classroom. I’m sure most students would be as, if not more proficient navigating around the technological world than most teachers. So by developing ICTs to use for learning in the classroom it is tapping into something the students are already familiar with and engaged in. Why not use student’s strengths as a method of learning?
